Delete your account

Request account deletion in the app and track its status in Settings. Your account is deleted 30 days after your request, and you can cancel in the app until then. We email you when deletion is complete.

Before you delete: withdraw your funds or export your keys

apes uses self-custody embedded wallets provided by Privy. apes never holds your keys or funds. Deleting your account does not delete or move anything in your on-chain wallet, but it removes sign-in access to that wallet through apes. So first withdraw your funds (Profile → Settings → Wallet → Withdraw) or export your private keys (Wallet → Export private keys). The app checks this before it accepts your request.

How to delete in the app

  1. Open apes and go to Profile, then Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Read the warning, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Request account deletion.
  4. If you sign in with Apple, tap Confirm with Apple once so we can revoke apes’s access to your Apple ID.
  5. Keep the request reference and date. You can return to Settings to check the status or cancel the request until that date. Once deletion starts, it can no longer be cancelled.

New trades are paused while deletion is pending. Withdrawals stay available. Cancelling keeps your account.

Finish any sells or conversions before requesting deletion. If you still need to convert an asset to withdraw it, cancel the pending request first. You can request deletion again after securing your funds.

What deletion removes

30 days after your request we delete the following, except records we must keep by law (see below):

What is not deleted

Privacy requests and completion

You can also contact support to exercise rights under applicable privacy law. Those rights have their own deadlines; the 30 days to cancel do not replace them. We email you a confirmation when deletion is complete.

Can’t access the app?

If you can’t sign in to delete your account yourself, email us at contact@apes.app from the address on your account to initiate a request. Include your request reference if you have one. We verify that you own the account before starting a request.
